AVE SK : presse à balles horizontale SAPHIR 500 ATH

AVE SK specialises in the collection and recycling of recyclable waste, particularly cardboard and plastic, in the Bratislava and Senec regions. It has recently optimised its operations by installing a fully automated horizontal baler. This machine, supplied by FROP, our Slovakian distributor, enables AVE SK to process an increased volume of recyclable materials with greater efficiency.

AVE SK is one of the leading waste management companies in Slovakia, with several divisions specialising in the processing of industrial and municipal waste. Its sorting centre focuses on the recovery and recycling of cardboard and plastics in the Bratislava and Senec region.

200 tonnes of cardboard per month :

To meet growing demand, AVE SK has invested in an ORWAK HORIZONTALE 500 ATH baler, which compacts and bales around 200 tonnes of cardboard and 20 tonnes of plastic film per month. Installed inside the recycling centre, the baler is equipped with a conveyor belt that speeds up the loading of large volumes of recyclable waste.

During collection, the recyclable waste is either loose or lightly compacted by container compactors. Forklifts constantly deposit new materials and transport the bales outside. These bales, stacked and stored, are then ready for dispatch.

A profitable business model:

AVE SK's model is based on converting waste into compacted bales, which are then exported to the recycling industry. These bales are sold to brokers and generate a good income. The brokers take care of the logistics and pick up the optimal loads as soon as they are ready. This strategy enables AVE SK to generate significant revenue while contributing to the recycling chain.

The new horizontal baler offers a number of advantages over the previous model:

  • Increased capacity to handle large volumes.
  • Increased productivity thanks to higher speed.
  • Advanced features and customised settings to optimise material handling while improving the working environment.

To prevent blockages in the outfeed channel, an optional device called a ‘deduster’ has been installed. This system pushes the material down before it is cut, guaranteeing a continuous flow in this high-intensity processing environment.

An essential link in the recycling chain :

In addition to the horizontal baler, AVE SK also uses a POWER 3820 vertical baler from Orwak on site. With its large capacity and extra-wide loading door, this machine is ideal for compacting specific types of plastic waste, such as straps or containers.

Barbora Gaplovská, site manager, highlights the importance of this equipment in their mission:
‘The 3820 press helps us considerably, as it enables us to compact several types of material at the same time. Protecting the environment is at the heart of our business. We sort, recycle and transform waste into secondary raw materials, which are reintegrated into the circular economy. Balers play a key role in this process, increasing our processing capacity and reducing transport costs thanks to highly compact bales.’

Thanks to this high-performance equipment, AVE SK is continuing its commitment to efficient waste management and a sustainable circular economy, reinforcing its role as a leader in the recycling sector in Slovakia.
